The next day, Chenana was getting ready for her second round as she sat on her bed and started eating some yellow apples that she had stored in her Atora Pouch before she left home. Kubora never said anything about bringing anything to eat so she is glad to at least have something good for her stomach. The bruise she had on the left side of her torso near the lower part of her rib cage was still hurting her and she somewhat have issues breathing as she finished eating her third apple.
"So, where are we going for our second round Chenana?" Aura Flaire's voice spoke as Chenana took out her fourth apple.
"I'm still figuring it out Aura," Chenana said. "I mean, I can't go back to that city so I could go to the mountains. Better places to hide after all."
"So we are sticking to what we have talked about last night?"
Chenana nodded. "Yup, but all I need to do is to keep calm and not lose focus." As she finished her last apple, she puts away her red pouch and then gets up. "However... You know what's bugging me?"
"Hmm? What is it?" Aura Flaire asked, sounding confused.
"Remember what Kubora said before we got home?"
"What do you mean Chenana? I unfortunately do not understand--"
"'Your powers and weapons will be taken away, and be replaced with a random weapon and spell,'" Chenana said, interrupting her spiritual friend in the process. "He told us that exact quote when he was explaining to us about the tournament."
"Is there something wrong about it? I sense something is troubling you when you mentioned this."
"He never said anything about taking away our defenses..."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Yes, that IS a bad thing Aura," She explained. "I should be able to still have those crystal coatings these crystals gave me. Those crystal coatings were just armor protecting everything that is inside my body for a while. They're not related to the powers that the crystals gave me in anyway shape or form. With the crystal coatings, I would of had the chance to survive this whole ordeal and not have this horrible bruise." She then placed a hand on her injury. "I think the ribs are cracked..."
"I do not think we should worry about that now. What is done is done and we can not change it," Aura Flaire said.
Chenana rolled her eyes. "It still doesn't excuse how bullshit it is. He didn't say jack-shit about taking away armor."
"Focus Chenana. Please, we need to get ready."
Chenana sighed as she grabbed her mace. "Next stop; Altera Mountains," She stated to herself as she left her room, but then she suddenly bumped into someone and fell on her rear. "Ahg! That hurts, you--" She stopped herself when she looked up to see WHAT she bumped into. It was a tall, cartoon-like male cyborg with a scar across the right side of his "stomach". He glared at her, not looking too pleased.
"Get out of the way meat-bag," He said cruelly.
She growled as she got up. "Well excuse me scrap metal!"
They glared at each other for a couple of seconds before the cyborg walked off. Chenana sighed in frustration.
"Oh suuure he still has HIS defenses!" She stated angrily.
"Let it go Chenana," She heard Aura Flaire spoke. "Now is not the time to rant. We need to address our requested destination."
Chenana took a deep breath. "Right. Let's just get this over with.."
As soon as she got to the lobby, she noticed that no one was at the counter.
"That's just great," She stated angrily. "Now how the hell am I supposed to--"
"Why hello again Chenana," Someone spoke from behind her. She gasped as she quickly spun around to see Kubora standing there with a grin on his face.
"O-Oh... It's you again.." She said, feeling a bit relaxed.
"You pulled off a pretty good fight. Short, but pretty good none the less," he said as he puts his hat back on his head.
"Um, thanks I-I guess," She said a bit sheepishly.
"Hmm? Is there something wrong, my lady? I thought that you would be excited winning your first round."
"Well, if you haven't noticed Kubora that I'm not a psychopath like most of the contestants here," she stated as she rolled her eyes.
"Is that so?" He said, chuckling a bit as he walked a bit closer to her so that he would be a few inches near her. "Have you decided where you want to fight?"
"Y-Yes I have," Chenana spoke, feeling a bit nervous. "B-But how do I sign up to where I want to..."
"There is a clipboard on the counter," Kubora stated. "Just write down your name and destination."
"That's it? Well, I guess that's cool. Thanks Kubora."
"No problem. Good luck," He said, grinning. "You'll need it..."
As soon as he walked off, Chenana went over to the counter and took the clipboard off it. She could see all the names of the other opponents and their destinations on it as she writes her's down.
"Well, there is no turning back at this point.." She said to herself softly. "Mom... Dad... Uncle Blake... I will get you guys back home... I promise..." She then looked around, frowning as she started remembering not only Nadine's death, but also the nightmare she had last night. "I shouldn't have come here... I don't even belong in a tournament like this. I'm nothing like these people. I am not a mindless killer..."
"Chenana..." She hear Aura Flaire's sympathetic voice.
"I know what we've talked about last night Aura Flaire, but I... I just can't..." She then started tearing up as she began trembling. "I just can't do it... I don't want to kill any more people! I never liked killing anyone! Even if I'm defending myself, killing in general is wrong!"
"Is it because you do not want to be like him..?" Aura Flaire asked. Chenana slighting gasped in shock, knowing exactly what she was talking about. "You do not want to be what this 'Colt' person became when he lost his sanity..."
She frowned even more as she walked over and sat down on one of the few chairs that were in the lobby. "What he did was unforgivable..." She sobbed. "H-He killed Molly... Even IF he's Kyle's older brother, that bastard killed my best friend! I tried to stop him, but he threw me against a wall and all I could do was watch her die before my eyes..."
"I know Chenana..." Aura Flaire spoke sadly. "I saw those memories..."
Chenana started crying. "I don't want to kill anyone again! I just..! I-I just..!!"
"Sweety, please calm yourself... I know how you feel, but you need to try and focus. Remember; once you get that power, not only you can get your family back home, but you can possibly revive the opponents so they could return home as well. They may not deserve it, but it's better than dying here."
Hearing her words made Chenana calm down a bit as she wiped away her tears. "Y-You're right... Th-Thanks Aura Flaire..." She said with a small smile.
"Your welcome, my friend. Now, let us go to the mountains," Aura Flaire stated.
Chenana nodded in an agreement as she stood up. "Right. Let's go," She then started walking off as she soon leaves the Tower Crystallia and heads off towards Altera Mountains...
